“Because it is written, Be you holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16).
Holiness seems old fashioned in our modern day society. What is holy anyway? God is holy.
“For I am the Lord your God: you shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creeps upon the earth” (Leviticus 11:45).
“For I am the Lord that brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: you shall therefore be holy, for I am holy” (Leviticus 11:45).
There are unfortunately many people in our world who engage in sexual sins such as fornication, incest, molestation, rape, adultery, beastiality, and homosexuality. The law of holiness is widely disobeyed and people act like wild animals engaging in all forms of sexual immorality without repentance to the Holy God Jesus Christ.
There is judgment for sexual immorality. In the Holy Bible, the countries of Sodom and Gomorra were judged with fire and brimstone because of their sexual sin of sodomy which is homosexuality. God is the same and will not change.
“For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6).
If God destroyed two nations because of sexual immorality, He will also destroy the USA or any other nation who mocks God by accepting sexual sins.
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:7-9).
If you have lost holiness, ask the Holy Spirit to forgive you, repent of your sins of sexual immorality, and be saved in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
