I often say love God, love you, love people at the end of my messages, but what exactly does it mean to Love God?
The very first commandment of the ten says, “You shall have no other Gods before Me” (Exodus 20:3).
Hmmm, no other Gods before God. So, we can assume there are other gods because God clearly implies that there are other gods.
In fact, there are religions, cultures and ancient civilizations around the world that worship many gods such as in Roman, Greek and Egyptian mythology.
If we break down the worth mythology, we find that myth is the root and ology means” the study of.” Therefore, mythology is the study of myths. What is a myth? A myth is a traditional story containing supernatural beings or events commonly held to be false (according to Google dictionary).
It’s interesting that these Greek, Roman and Egyptian gods are thought of as make believe when God has told us that other gods do exist. What makes us not believe that phenomenon? Is it supernatural existence that we just can’t wrap our heads around? Hmmmm.
Jesus says to think like a little child in Matthew 18:3. In fact, this is the only way you can make it to heaven.
Why must we b
ecome like little children? After all, when we are children, it is then we can’t wait to be adults so we can do things we can’t do as child.
The magic happens when we are able to exist as a responsible adult with a childlike belief system, believing in the possibility of Heracles, Diana and Osiris.
If we can believe in these false gods, then surely we can believe in the one and only true God, Jesus Christ.
Why is it that Alexa and Google’s no name assistant don’t know Jesus Christ like Siri does?
These are all good questions to ponder in this vast space of life. I do ponder and have pondered and will continue to ponder the existence of G-O-D. Join me.
