I remember when I was in fifth grade in elementary school during PE when a team leader would pick people to be on his or her team. I was pretty athletic and so was one of the kids chosen first. I guess you could say I was chosen in the first round draft pick. It kind of sucked if you weren’t really good at sports because you were usually chosen last, but that’s alright. At least you were chosen at all. Anyway, perhaps sports just isn’t your cup of tea. Maybe you shine at art or science.
Well, in the kingdom of God, the Lord chooses children, too. Matthew 22:14 reads:
For many are called, but few are chosen.

The king invited many people to the his son’s marriage, but only a few were actually chosen as guests of the wedding because they had on the right wedding garments.
