Scripture:
Nehemiah 8:10
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Joy is not something we manufacture on our own. True joy comes from God. It is rooted in His presence, His promises, and His faithfulness. When scripture tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength, it reminds us that joy is not dependent on circumstances, but it is sustained by God Himself.
Living in glee does not mean life is always easy or perfect. It means we choose to draw near to God, even in uncertainty. It means we worship honestly, give freely, and trust God with who we are becoming. Joy grows when our lives are centered on Him.
In the Teens Draw Near to God podcast episode “Glee: Happy New Year,” we reflect on how joy, worship, and giving help shape our spiritual lives as we begin a new season. This devotional week was created as a companion to that episode to help you live out what you’ve heard and apply it to your daily walk with God.
As you move forward, remember that glee is not fleeting happiness. It is a deep joy anchored in knowing God and allowing Him to guide your life. When you draw near to Him, joy follows.
May this week remind you that God desires closeness with you and that His joy strengthens you for every step ahead.
✍🏽 Reflection
Where do I see God’s joy growing in me?
How can I continue to live a life that draws near to Him?

Father God, thank You for the joy You place in my life. Help me live each day drawing near to You, trusting You, and walking in the strength of Your joy. Amen.
God bless, Shirah Chante, your relationship coach
