The Birth of a Poetry Song
You might be wondering, what exactly is a poetry song? It’s a blend of poetic verse and a melody, essentially, a poem that’s been made into a song. The story behind Love Chimes started as a spark inspired by a special encounter when I was looking for a place to live. Several years back, I found myself making a life-altering move from Rochester, New York, to Los Angeles, California. My journey was motivated by God’s call for me to sing during my time at Divinity School.
A Fateful Encounter in La Jolla
During that time, a chance meeting gave me the inspiration needed to create poetry song. In La Jolla, I met a man whose story was tragic but miraculous. A horrible car accident brought him to a near death experience where he saw Jesus Christ and visited heaven. After his heavenly visit, he suddenly became prolific in writing poetry set to music. Meeting him was a gift from above that ignited my creativity through his tragedy. Nothing is wasted with God, even our deepest sadness.
Laying Tracks and Composing Dreams
From that encounter, producing four poetry songs became my first effort of recording music. I began to transform my poems into music, crafting each line to sing along with melodious tracks. Eventually, my first EP was born, featuring four soul-stirring pieces, with Love Chimes taking center stage. Figuring out how to make the melody flow with the music was a lot of fun. I just want to encourage you right now. If you’re feeling called to create, to share, or to dream in ways you never thought possible, don’t pass up your opportunity to do so.
The Creative Community
My mission is to bless and inspire you, so I decided to create a community where you will find encouragement to pursue what God has placed on your heart. I’m dedicated to helping you step boldly into your calling. Whether it’s pouring your heart into words, strumming out joy through music, or singing with love, your creativity has a purpose. In the weeks to come, I will invite you to join me in making history by completing your calling.
