Glee Day 4 Devotional – Identity in Father God
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
In a world that constantly tells us who we should be, it’s easy to feel confused about who we really are. Social media, school, relationships, and comparison can all shape how we see ourselves. Sometimes our identity gets tied to our appearance, our achievements, or what others say about us.
But today’s scripture reminds us of a powerful truth: our identity begins with God.
Genesis 1:27 tells us that we were created in the image of God. That means your worth was established before anyone ever had an opinion about you. You are not an accident. You are not overlooked. You are not defined by your mistakes or your insecurities. You were created intentionally, with care, and with purpose.
When God created you, He placed value inside of you. Your life matters because it comes from Him. Understanding this helps us stop chasing approval from people and start resting in the truth of who God says we are.
Being created in God’s image doesn’t mean we are perfect, but it does mean we reflect Him. We reflect His creativity, His love, His ability to grow, and His desire for connection. When we spend time with God, He gently reveals who we are becoming through Him.
Today is an invitation to let God define you—not culture, not comparison, not fear.
✍🏽 Reflection
If God created me, what does that say about my worth?
What labels do I need to let go of so I can see myself the way God sees me?
🙏 Prayer
Father, show me who I am through You. Help me see myself through Your truth and not through the opinions of others. Thank You for creating me with purpose and love. Amen.
