I’m Not a Bitch

I remember one of the most embarrassing episodes of my life when I was riding as a passenger in the car with my ex-husband. He got mad at me and called me a bitch. I was so appalled because I’m not a bitch. A bitch is a female dog. I am a human being, not a dog.

I love dogs but will not associate my identity with a lesser being, an animal. I am not an animal. This was my thought in middle school when my science teacher said, “we’re all animals.” I immediately thought in my mind, no, I am not an animal, but decided not to voice my thoughts openly.

Since I was a little girl I have known that God created a man named Adam and gave him a wife named Eve that he formed from Adam’s rib. God also created animals; however, animals are not humans and humans are not animals, even though sometimes humans may act like animals.

Anyway, I talk about the importance of identifying yourself in a positive light. Be brilliant, not blunt; bold, not boring; and beautiful, not bad. You have the opportunity to listen to my podcast, Relationship Rock, where I talk about a way to make someone calling you a bitch or even you calling yourself a bitch a meaningful experience instead of a degrading situation.

God bless,
