India Homage

Indians, not Native Americans seeing that I am part Cherokee Indian, but people from India have been a part of my life since high school. I remember my beautiful friends Blessy and Suni. Don’t you just love those names?!

See, I love Indian people. Thus, I wanted to preface the prophecy the Lord gave me about India with fond memories of my high school Indian friends. In fact, I love all people because my Heavenly Father loves me, and the love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit because God loves the whole world.

Before I get to the prophecy, I am honored to share the same birthday with a hugely prominent Indian figure, Mahatma Gandhi. Yep, that’s right, Gandhi and I were born on the same day, different years, of course. Must I say we both have a love for human rights and social justice. I even thought to be a lawyer once upon a time.

Well, those were the days when I frequented the Bodhi Tree bookstore on Melrose in Los Angeles, drinking green tea, and reading books like Die to Live by Pramahansa Yogananda. I met an Indian man named Vishnu who invited me to attend a yoga class with him on Venice Beach. I said, yes, because he intrigued me by telling me he would teach me an ancient Indian language – Sanskrit.

The yoga class was cool, but what happened afterwards was even more interesting, if I can say it like that. By the way, I must tell you that I no longer practice yoga because the Holy Spirit told me that it was too intertwined with the worship of false gods. Anyway, after yoga class, my friend Vishnu and I were invited to a special dinner. I said yes, of course, who turns down free dinner?

Well, much to my amazement this dinner was none like I had ever experienced before. There was a gold statue of an Indian god at the front of the room. Apparently, the dinner was in honor of this god’s birthday. So, after everyone got their meal, we all sat down on the floor Indian style. Then, some people started passing out what looked to me like Hawaiian leis, necklaces decorated by pretty flowers. Next thing I know, people started tossing the leis to the Indian god statue and offering it food. I didn’t know what to do, so I tossed my flower, too.

When I got back home that night, I felt very uneasy in my spirit because I realized that that dinner I was invited to after yoga class was a food ceremony for a false god which is considered idol worship in the Holy Bible. I immediately repented of my deed of going to the dinner and participating in idol worship. I felt much better after that confession, and I have never attended a dinner honoring false Indian gods again. There really are some free meals I should say no to.

Now onto the prophecy. The Lord gave me a prophetic poem where He told me that “India shall see and be a great light for me in the midst of poverty, Sovereignty. She shall sleep, not weep for joy. No boy no toy just joy pure joy and hope everlasting.”

How could I not want to see the Indian people achieve this magnificent manifestation for Christ. What an honor the Indian people have to be chosen for such a time as this to show the world the light of the Lord.

Godspeed, my Indian friends!
