Welcome to my thoughts on the Teens Draw Near to God poetry podcast, where I navigate the intricacies of love, life and poetry. Let’s ponder upon a beautiful poem from my book Jaundiced View called Silver, Sapphire, and Gold. This isn’t just about shiny metals and jewels, but it’s an exploration of love’s many colors and complexities. So, prepare for enlightenment in love.
What is True Love?
Is true love silver, sapphire, or gold? This isn’t just a question about precious metals. It’s about depth, connection, and what drives us in relationships. Love isn’t money, but how intertwined are love and money in our daily lives? Our society often links love with financial security, but let’s ask ourselves: is true love really based on material wealth?
Accepting Imperfections in Love
True love means finding beauty in someone else’s imperfections. It’s not about finding someone flawless; it’s about recognizing that both of you are learning and growing. Are you someone who can accept the “failures of aspired”? Accepting the faults of the one you love is vital for the relationship to last. Unconditional love involves forgiveness and understanding. Are there habits or beliefs you struggle with in someone you care about? Don’t judge, but use these thoughts to help you grow in understanding that person.
Who is My True Love?
“How do I know if my true love is near?” is a question that haunts many of us. In our world of endless dating adventures, it’s a real concern. Is finding love just a random game of chance, or is there a higher intervention at play? While dating apps and social experiences are some ways to explore love, prayer and faith can guide you as well.
Remember the story of Isaac and Rebecca from the Bible? It’s a beautiful example of finding love through intention and divine guidance. Not everyone might have their father finding a spouse for them, but you do have a Heavenly Father who’s willing to listen and guide you.
The Role of Divine Guidance
Seeking guidance from God might seem awkward, but it’s about allowing yourself to be vulnerable and ask for help when looking for love. Whether you’re a teenager, a parent of teens, or anyone with love on the mind, prayer can provide clarity and quiet strength. Trust in the process and what’s meant for you will find its way to you.
There’s a verse in the Ecclesiastes 11:1 that says, Cast your bread on the waters and after many days it will return to you. That’s how love is. Throw your need for love into the abyss of the sea and let God bring to you the one you need.
Value of Love
As you step forward, thinking about love’s complexities, here’s what I want you to take away: Love is not just about what enriches you now, but what fulfills your heart’s longing and adds genuine value to your life. Make sure you’re looking for a love that feels stable, fair, and truly reciprocated. I’m here for this journey with you. Keeping your heart open might feel vulnerable, but it’s the genuine connections that fuel your soul. Feel free to explore these themes in my book Jaundiced View, or listen to the poetry podcast again to see what new insights emerge.
Always remember to love God, love you, and love people.
