Discovering the Song 48: A Love Letter from God to Israel

It’s so wonderful to have you here. I’m Shirah Chante, Relationship Artist, and I’m excited to share a unique journey with you through the creation of my song “48.” This isn’t just any song; it’s a love song from God to His people. It’s about building relationships that last, one note at a time.

Welcome to Relationship Rock

On the Relationship Rock podcast, I explore the beautiful majesty of relationships grounded in faith. Each episode, I delve into original songs I’ve written, sharing their genesis and journey. Today, I’m thrilled to talk about “48” and its profound connection to the nation of Israel.

The Inspiration Behind “48”

Let me give you a peek into how “48” came to life. Initially, I thought the song would commemorate turning 48 years old, something playful and personal. But soon, the song transformed as I realized its deeper significance, it’s rooted in a pivotal event for Israel: the nation’s rebirth in 1948.

God’s Love and Jealousy

The essence of “48” stems from the voice of God, expressing His unwavering love and jealousy for His people. This is not a possessive kind of jealousy but a protective one, born from love, as articulated in Exodus 20:5 “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.” Here, God emphasizes His unique and exclusive relationship with His children.

A Message for Our Times

The song speaks of signs in the sun, moon, and stars, coupled with assurances of divine protection. We’re living through challenging times, witnessing global unrest, much like the conflicts Israel faces. But the message of “48” is a beacon of hope: God remains our guardian.

Crafting a Musical Journey

Creating this song involved listening intently to the Spirit, allowing its message to evolve. What started as a reflection on aging and personal growth morphed into a heartfelt anthem for a nation reborn. The journey from whimsical beginnings to a solemn love letter was enlightening, both spiritually and creatively.

Why This Matters to You

As you hear “48,” I hope it moves you, perhaps even brings a tear, or fills you with comfort. It’s a reminder that God’s love is relentless, and that we are cherished by Him. In times of war and peace alike, you belong to Him.

Final Thoughts

Thank you for joining me on this creative journey. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share my voice and music with you. As I continue to work on my upcoming EP, know that the music aims to strengthen your spirit as much as it does mine. Until next time, remember to love God, love yourself, and love others.

God bless, Shirah Chante, Relationship Rock
