Welcome to an exploration of divine love, music, and the spiritual pathway they together unveil. As teenagers, parents, and those who guide the youth, we are embarking on a journey to discover deeper meanings of love and connection through poetry and personal revelations. This reflection will draw from the poem “Music” from my collection *Jaundiced View*.
Drawing Near to God
In my role as a Relationship Artist, it’s my pleasure to invite you into a space where we explore how the melodies of poetry and the rhythms of life can bring us closer to God. Drawing near to God means getting closer spiritually, emotionally, and personally, allowing divine love to permeate our lives.
The Poem Music
The poem “Music” stands at the heart of today’s reflection. Poetry has a unique way of opening us to new insights, acting as a conduit through which divine truths can pass. In “Music,” the lines illustrate the enduring nature of love: “A love is cherished forevermore. Never closing the door.” Just as music progresses in harmony, so does eternal bliss within a committed relationship.
Marriage: An Unyielding Union
Marriage represents a sacred bond, a covenant before God that signifies a union not meant to be broken. However, as life presents its challenges, there are moments when separation becomes necessary, especially in circumstances of unfaithfulness or harm. The poem urges us to reflect on the ties that bind and when those ties might need reevaluating.
The Spiritual Realm of Love and Sex
“Music” uses the metaphor of music to discuss the intimate and spiritual aspects of sex. Here, sex is portrayed as a divine portal, a means of connecting on a profound level that extends beyond the physical. But with deep connection comes deep consequence. Engaging in sexual activities outside the sanctity of marriage can open doors to spiritual and physical challenges, exemplified by past personal struggles leading to spiritual awakening and healing.
Healing Through Faith
Healing from the consequences of these connections requires spiritual intervention. Just as I went through a challenging phase of healing, using fasting and prayer, I advocate for turning to God for restoration. The combined spiritual practice aids in cleansing and healing the body from the inside out, demonstrating the power of faith and commitment to God’s ways.
A Divine Invitation
As we venture into a new year, let us resolve to align our lives more closely with God’s intentions for love and relationships. Living a life free of sexual immorality, we open ourselves to true divine love—a love that God unconditionally extends to us.
May the teachings and reflections shared today inspire caution and thoughtfulness about the relationships we enter and maintain. Seek to love God, nurture self-love, and extend love to others in a manner that honors divine will.

Together, let us cherish the divine gift of music in our hearts and lives. Remember, love God, love yourself, and love others.
