So first Corinthians chapter 13 verse four says love suffers long and is kind.
Love does not envy. Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up. Does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil. Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.
So that’s first Corinthians chapter 13 verses four through six. Let’s see if we can focus there today.
Love suffers long and is kind.
So when we say suffers long, usually that means love is patient. Yes. Love is patient. It suffers long. Patience is long suffering.
For instance, a very hard situation is if your spouse is committing adultery, which we know is against God and is against the marriage covenant.
When you marry someone, it should be you and him, you and her, a man and a female, a man and woman. Them two together, not other women, not other men. That’s the marriage covenant.
