Happy New Year! As we kick off a brand-new year, there’s no better resolution than to draw near to God. James 4:8 reminds us of a powerful promise: Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Getting close to God doesn’t only occur at church, it’s a daily decision.
So, what does “drawing near” look like for teens today?
It might mean setting aside 10 minutes in the morning to read the Bible before school. It could be listening to worship music while doing homework or saying a quick prayer before a test. It can even be as simple as choosing kindness when it’s easier not to. Every small step toward God matters.
In this GLEE devotional journey, “G” is for God-first living. Start this year by putting God first each day. As you make time for Him, you’ll feel His presence more and more in your life.
Today’s Challenge
Take one step closer to God, read one chapter in the Bible, write a short prayer in your journal, or worship with a song that lifts your spirit.
Let this year be the year you grow closer to the One who loves you most, Father God.
God bless, Shirah Chante, your relationship coach
