Learn to listen to God. Read his Word. How do you learn to listen to God? I’m giving you the steps right here. Read his Word, step one. What is his word? The word of God is the Holy Bible. He left it for us, God’s word. He gave it to us on this earth so that we would have a roadmap, a guidebook, a compass on how to live life, and that is the word of God. It is living. It is powerful. It is sharper than any two‑edged sword. Yes, it is Jesus Christ himself. The word became flesh, it says in John 1:1 and dwelt among us.
Learn to listen to God. Read his Word. There’s many ways you can read the word of God. You can just open it and you can start reading from beginning to end. And I’ve done that. I’ve done that several times and that’s very helpful. It’s very interesting and it’s very fun and it’s very challenging to read the whole thing through from beginning to end.
If I would pick a book, I would say, Matthew, there you go. There’s a book to start with, no questions asked. No deliberations, no where should I start? Just open it and read it. How many chapters should I read? Read a chapter a day. That’s a good start.
So learn to listen to God. This is how you’re gonna learn to listen to him by reading his words, because when you are reading the word of God, you’re listening to his words, you’re listening to his voice. These are his thoughts. These are his desires, his being, his soul. Him.
